Hello! I'm Kuria. 

I'm a small business owner and strategist who bridges the gap between ideas and the people who'll pay for them.

I've stretched my curiosity muscle beyond my career in advertising

 

My earliest work experience was in retail of building materials and and wholesale of livestock feeds while attending high school and university. 

​

As a customer care agent at a bank under the shadow of Y2K, I learnt to quell customer's fears.

​

Ran a multimedia production studio that leased studio space and sound equipment for gigs, created and gave away ringtones, and produced a TV show too.

​

Tested my patience and belief in the unknown with organic farming. Produced tons of sweet, and really hot, peppers. Vermiculture was part of the gig too.

​

Volunteered with Junior Achievement to inspire young minds and in exchange received a humbling experience from people I'd never have otherwise met.

 

In my advertising and communications career, I've taken many paths

​

Lead account management teams at JWT and Ogilvy, providing leadership on Vodacom, Barclays and Nestle.

 

Earned character development during a brief stint in a PR agency.
 

Worked as a strategist at home in Kenya, and for brands in Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, and Mauritania, on telecommunications, soft drinks, tobacco, banking, financial services, packaged foods, and energy categories.

Today, I'm a husband, dad of three great kids, a gamer with stiff thumbs, and an investor of time and money in nascent tech businesses.

 

All of these roles have gifted me windows into people's motivations, got me accustomed to getting my hands dirty often, and made me fearless in the face of fewer resources.
